A sweet tent for the Boo team

by Nick Frey

Here at Boo Bicycles, we often work with great companies and incredible products. Recently, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Dagmar Branding, and one of the best canopy tents we’ve encountered. Conveniently located on the Front Range in Denver, we started working with Dagmar Branding about two and a half years ago with the Ex-Dome. We used this tent a lot for the first year, and we were fairly pleased with the product at first. Once we we built our demo fleet, and converted a BlueBird bus to take it traveling, we were using this tent pretty much every single weekend. This is when we noticed the tent’s weaknesses. The joints started coming apart due to the lightweight aluminum, the pins started breaking, and ultimately, we were not super pleased with the product for how much we paid. Luckily, we were working with a great company, and they stand by their product.

We spoke with Michael Demchak, at Dagmar Branding, and he immediately made our tent troubles right. He first offered to fix the old tent for us, and, when discovering that this tent probably just didn’t meet our needs, he offered us an upgrade in its place—the premier aluminum frame. With thicker aluminum, and much more robust hardware, this tent is a little heavier; though, it is definitely worth the extra pounds for its extreme durability. Also, the slick roller carrying case this tent comes in makes easy work of transporting it place-to-place. All the pivot hardware is extremely strong, and, if necessary, can easily be found at the local hardware store while on the road. Our company logo, which Dagmar Branding printed on the canopy, is great as well—everything is perfectly centered, and the colors are bright and vibrant. This tent is easily set up with two people, and can be set up by one in a pinch. The frame folds up tight, and is easily stowed back into its case. The rope securing points seem extremely strong; and work great for us as we often have heavy weights as our only option for securing the tent. The lock pins are strong, and are easily operated with a gloved hand. In short, the Dagmar Branding premier aluminum frame is truly a great piece of equipment, one that no company touring their product should her without. We’d recommend this tent to anyone!
