The Alubooyah “is a cross-country trail bike that is a fat bike.”  What’s that mean?  FAST and RESPONSIVE!

How fast?  Amanda Miller came home with stars and bars from the 2015 Fat Bike National Championships, pro women’s class.  When you want an ultra-fast fat bike that still rides smooth in rough terrain, the Alubooyah is the ticket.

Why bamboo, you ask?

Our special Tam Vong bamboo is stiff and absorbs vibration three times better than carbon.  For those long rides in the saddle, the damping abilities of the bamboo keep you fresh and comfortable.

Our bamboo also has torsional (twisting) compliance.  When handling, the frame’s bamboo tubes twist slightly, allowing lateral forgiveness.  As a result, the bike feels more planted and doesn’t shudder when pushed through corners and curves.

Alubooyah: Compatible and Versatile

With symmetrical 170mm rear spacing, you can run a myriad of different hub options.  The Alubooyah sports 4.4″ of tire clearance in the rear and 4.8″ in the front, making it compatible with most rim and tire combinations.  Inquire about getting your wheels set up tubeless for lower rolling resistance and better protection from summer goat’s-head thorns.

We’ve sourced our own tapered alloy forks for the Alubooyah.  That means they not only match, with all aluminum parts sporting a gorgeous brushed finish, they’re also lightweight and stiff for tracking through demanding conditions.  A hearty downtube gusset and clean-and-stiff press fit 121 bottom bracket ensure this bike can take a beating.

The Alubooyah fork also features an offset and axle-to-crown length that is suited to fast riding.  When running large tires, you won’t feel like you’re piloting a sled.  The Alubooyah will still feel fast, even when you’re pushing through inches of fresh powder.

Want to run fenders?  Racks for panniers?  Front bottles or anything cages?  Don’t worry, there are mounts galore.

The Alubooyah is built for versatility, and we know you’ll have your own ways of riding the Alubooyah where no (wo)man has ventured before.

I just got back from my 2nd ride on my Alubooyah, and I’m in love. Setup tubeless I can’t believe how fast this bike rolls. It’s lighter, faster, and more nimble than I ever would have expected. Inflating the tires makes for a few quick, smooth ride on pavement. Drop the tire pressure for single track or snow and it makes for a very versatile setup. Long climbs are a breeze, and the bike is great for bombing back down. Can’t wait to throw on my 650b wheelset and Bluto fork for spring/summer riding. By far my favorite and most fun bike to ride.
